Re: show / work

I can tell you what I do, but I always recommend making sure the dog is structurally sound for any activity before starting. Plus, USRC requires any dog 30 months and older to have an OFA (or comparable) hip rating before showing. Are you showing german sieger style or AKC? Not trying to be evasive here, it's just I always like to find out if the dog is structurally sound enough for what I would recommend, and the only way to know that is to get the required health checks first.

Re: show / work

Once again, not trying to be evasive, but the workout routine I do with a dog (to prep for a show) is pretty strenuous, and I wanted to make sure the dog's structure is up to it. I would be glad to help with advice, but as time goes by I find health clearances becoming more and more important, no matter what fenue you are interested in.

I am preparing my two dogs for their first USRC show comming up in April. I am interested in hearing more about your workout. figured it will also help me get into shape! LOL My dogs have been xrayed and are good. I just haven't sent them in yet. right now we just take long walks with a little running. I have several acres of land with trails through the woods. I used to exercise the dogs by riding my quad and they chase me. that just doesn't do anything for me:) Thanks
