puppy going to USRC and we got to meet Djuke!

This is the first time I have posted in the conformation forum, so I just wanted to state that we are definitely novices when it comes to the ring. We are learning with ALOT of help/direction/assistance from our breeder. Now, having said that, we are very excited that our 7 month old female (Barton's Xasha Von Evman) is going to Orlando next month to show in the puppy class for USRC. This is her 2nd show. She got her international/national championship at the IABCA show last October in Orlando. I'm looking forward to seeing the dogs doing the BST. That will be a first for us.
We also got to meet Djuke vom Vistaler Land at our breeders yesterday. WOW! Again, we are novices, but what a specimen. He was just breathtaking.

That sounds like fun. We're excited. We have alot to do between now and then as it is my understanding that we can't bait with treats in the ring.

The dog is 7 months old, has only been to 2 shows, and already has her international/national championship?

Re: puppy going to USRC and we got to meet Djuke!

I'm sorry if I didn't specify puppy championship. But yes. She has been to one show, where she went into the ring 4 times and came out with 3 firsts and a second place, scoring SG-1 in all 3. That was at an IABCA show. She was awarded her international/national puppy championship that weekend. She has not been to the next show yet. USRC in February in Orlando. Is this odd?

she probably meant the puppy int. championship in uci.
it's good until 18 months then you have to redo it as an adult if i remember correctly. has been awhile since i did uci international shows.

My one girl is part VonEvman, I just love their dogs. My breeder suggested Djuke for my girl when the time comes, they live down there and know the Johnsons. Don't know. But, I must agree, he is quite the specimen.

Oh, and good luck at the show. I have not done USRC yet, but understand it is much more fun than AKC.

So I take it Djuke hasn't produced anything noteworthy?

He can't produce it by himself. Both parents have to be able to pass on their good qualities.

LOL ... great answer to that !

A friend is expecting some Djuke pups very soon. Guess I'll get to see first hand

And to the original poster ... good luck with your pup. USRC shows are a lot of fun but the jealousy of some, is far greater than anything you have ever been a part of.

Re: puppy going to USRC and we got to meet Djuke!

Thank you toobad. We did enjoy the show very much. I posted in the brags forum of her VP-3. Funny what you said though about the jealousy thing. I actually have another post in the conformation forum about how much of a difference there was between the USRC and the IABCA we attended. I actually preferred the USRC because of the total lack of ignorance regarding our breed that we experienced at the IABCA. Xasha is still only a pup though and competed at just 7 months. I guess maybe it will be different when we are trying for adult titles. What a shame.
