Re: puppy going to USRC and we got to meet Djuke!

I'm happy to hear you had fun and 3rd place is pretty darn good. I don't want to scare you with my comment as there are soooo many really nice people who attend the USRC and AIRK shows but like anything else there are those who just can't stand to lose. It's big business to some and they have a lot of time and usually way too much money invested to go and finish 3rd or 4th place. When they don't even place it can get pretty ugly especially here in the NorthEast . I guess they figure that if they get a first place somewhere along the line it is just going to be that way always. Some of them can get pretty viscious with their comments and accusations. Just remember this .... the dogs pretty much speak for themselves out there. Like you said, the people at these shows are not ignorant, they know a good dog when they see one.

Congrats again on your finish !

Re: puppy going to USRC and we got to meet Djuke!

Wonderful! Congrats on your great finish!

My hubby got to meet Djuke at VonEvman's when picking out our puppy. He had just gotten there and his original owner was still there as well getting him adjusted and all. And Djuke was trying to 'mark' my hubby and our friend who was there with him! LOL And, he also met Skip Bittner. Funny to see all these names I "know".

We're going to Europe for the summer and Von Evman's is going to board our puppy for us as well.

Montana,

Wow, I was surprised to see a response to this thread. It was started a while ago. The Von Evmans are wonderful. Xasha will be spending a week with them in July while we are in the Keys. I think next year she will be ready for the "family vacation". Anyhoo...let me know which show you are going to next. Always great to meet such a close family member. What is your baby's name?

Re: puppy going to USRC and we got to meet Djuke!

We'll be dropping him off sometime the first week in July I think depending. We're driving cross-country (Montana to Florida!) in our motorhome and then leaving him and flying out to be back early September.

Alumas Baledin VonEvman born 11/12/07

I think you asked on his photo who his parents are? They are Harmony and Agony. Really! LOL We wanted to do a 'tragic' name for him as well, but we couldn't come up with something "B" and he was the "B" liter. His call name is actually "Remus" which of course has nothing to do with his registered name, but what hubby had his heart set on for his Rottweiler.

What is a USRC show? Is that a different body than then AKC? Just curious, I am not sure how things are done in the US.

Good luck at the show!! hope your pup does well!

Re: puppy going to USRC and we got to meet Djuke!

Tell me about the name thing!! We intended for a "Z" litter, so we FINALLY picked out Zasha. Ended up better suited for an "X" litter. I wasn't going through it again, so I figured if xylaphone (sp?) sounds like a Z, so could Xasha, lol.

I couldn't be happier with "Grandma Evie" and Manson. We're also fortunate that they live less than 20 minutes from us. Remus will be in good hands while you are away. It sounds like a wonderful vacation you have planned.

Re: puppy going to USRC and we got to meet Djuke!

Oh wonderful! And I agree...I was pronouncing her name "Zasha" as I read it :)

We were initially looking at some pups from Behr that were due in December, but the breeding didn't take. We were traveling down from Montana and were actually in the area in December, so instead, dh went and picked out a pup from the Harmony/Agony litter and I flew back in January to pick him up!

I think Remus will be very happy there too. He's going to love playing with some other doggies!

Xasha goes on July 10th through the 20th. I'm sure they'll get some play time in. Spending time there does wonders for Xasha. She enjoys the interaction so much.

Great :) I will be gone already, but be sure to ask to see Remus! We sure love him and think he's great :) I'm sure he and Xasha will have fun playing together.
