My Gary was born with a tiny underbite, and when his adult teeth came in his bite was normal.

Thanks in advance.

We have had them go off as late as 18 months of age. Hopefully your pups will stay where it is.

Well, I guess "never say never" is appropriate here....but consider yourself lucky. Dependent on the severity of it, it's not uncommon for an overbite to correct, but it is for an underbite. Congratulations!

Re: Over Bite?

I do feel lucky! I am just worried now that as his jaws continue to grow that perhaps there is a chance that the underbite will come back :(

This will possibly be turning out to a scissor bite. Bite issues can be genetic - so it good to know if these occur in the lines. Even a tight scissor bite is a scissor bite. Some judges may penalize it. Bites can change up until they are almost 2yr.

Serious faults in AKC are are level bite or one missing tooth. Level bite also serious fault in FCI shows.

Disqualifications: Overshot/overbite, undershot/underbite, wry mouth, two or more missing teeth (AKC), any missing teeth (CanKC, & FCI shows)
