I'm was just wondering who is going to this show. I plan on going. It will be my first show as an exhibitor. Though I'm a bit apprehensive, I am really looking forward to it. Hopefully, we will have great weather.

Thank you jas's mom!!! I can't wait to leave!!!! I think the weather is going to be great and I intend to have a lot of fun. What could be greater than spending a weekend with your dog and dog people?!!! I intend to get there early at the campgrounds, set up camp, maybe take an afternoon nap and then head to Bowling Green for my private lesson with a trainer there. The owners of the campground said they love when the Rottweiler people stay there and they plan extra activities the weekend of the show.![]() That sure is a nice welcome instead of banning Rotts from their campground!!! I'll do my part to keep their good attitude.

I thought I would tell everybody how things went. The weather was great, campground was wonderful, and it was a very well run show. I found people at the first sieger style I went to in Tennessee to be extremely nice and this was true at this show as well. At that first show, I was just a spectator and was treated so well by others there. The atmosphere is so different from what I have experienced at several AKC shows I have gone to watch. After I parked, I introduced myself to the people parked to the right of me, told them this was my first show and asked them about registration. They were very helpful and friendly. The exhibitors parked to the left of me were as well. Actually, nearly everybody I spoke to were nice, friendly and helpful! ![]() ![]() I have taken our dog several places and expected her to be confident and relaxed at the show. She didn't disappoint me!!! I will say I was nervous in the ring, but didn't fall down and was able to talk to the judge ! Heck, I heard the critique, but didn't remember any of it so thank goodness I received it written form! We placed 4th out of 8 and received a nice critique. I got several unsolicited complements and three people stated they would buy her if she was for sale. I had a smile on my face the rest of the day!!! CGC testing was done on Saturday afternoon. Though I have read the requirements of the test, I had never seen the actual evaluation. After watching a couple of dogs go through the test, I decided to do it. At the age of 18 weeks, she was by far the youngest dog tested. WE PASSED!!!! ![]() ![]() The evaluator was very fair, but strict. Unfortunately, not all the dogs tested passed, but hopefully they will at a later date. During the supervised separation, a car alarm went off and the evaluator had to holler at some kids to get out of the road . I was a very proud puppy parent when my little gal didn't get excited. (I was standing behind a truck and could see her through the tinted windows.) What I didn't expect was to feel how much getting her CGC would mean to me. I hadn't trained specifically for it nor had I planned on testing for it at the show. I knew my dog would sit, stay, down, come, had been friendly to the people we met, would let others handle her paws, etc., and I had left her with people I knew at different times to go to the restroom, get food, etc., but didn't do those things specifically for the CGC. I guess getting our CGC means so much to me because it was verification for me that she is a stable, social, obedient dog and that is what I am trying to accomplish in the way we are raising and training her. I do planning on testing her again when she is an adult. The lesson with the trainer on Friday went well too. She started on the A-frame and loves it!! She was going over it herself when loose. I guess it makes her feel tall . Her first track didn't go bad and she gobbled up all the food We worked on some other things and it was an enjoyable session. All in all, I had a great time and it was a wonderful weekend. We had lots of fun. Thank you for letting me share!!!! Kelly R, The campground and the staff were absolutely great. On Saturday, I received an invitation to a training group and it was late when I got back. I didn't have time that night to pack up and wanted to get to the show early on Sunday. When I inquired about a late check out, the managers of the campground said not to worry about checking out late or a late fee. When I said I would be happy to pay it, they said they knew I had a lot going on with the dog show and that was fine! If I ever camp in this area again, I will return to this place and will recommend it to others.
