Opinion about Umbro vom Sittard

What's your opinion of Umbro vom Sittard?

To me this is one of the most beautiful dogs right now, he is big powerful and still. But I been listening many comments about his size.

Is there anyone here who can tell me more about him?

Re: Opinion about Umbro vom Sittard

Unbro is one of my favorite dogs in Germany right now. He has excellent size(68cm) and substance with very good pigmentation and excellent temperment. He is good on the work field and in the show ring. I am very much a favorite of his father Like as well. Very Very nice dogs from a top kennel in Germany.IMO

An afterthought.... make sure that you not only research what Umbro's produced, but what his father has produced as well.

Re: Opinion about Umbro vom Sittard

Thanks Ron,

Well I just want to know a little bit more about Umbro, because I'm really thinking about buying a puppy form him.

I love massive Rotts like him, but I don't want to go over the standar limit. Can you tell me a little bit about his size. Is he as big as he looks in the pictures?.

His German championship proves that he is a beautiful dog and that he is in the standard. I also can tell that his mother is a super big female.

Can you tell me also a little bit about his temperament?.

Thanks.

Mauricio.

Re: Opinion about Umbro vom Sittard

Yes, Umbro is a very large male. Pictures as nice as some are, do not do him justice.

He has a great temperment. He is very well balanced mentally. I was around him a number of days. Had the chance to see him do tracking, obedience, and protection a few times. Also just sat in the back yard with him which sitting and enjoying time with his owners Gunther & Jutta Maicher. That in itself was an honor. Just becareful if you have the chance to play with a ball with Umbro....keep your iced tea secure! lol As Umbro loves playing with his ball, and will do anything for it! I have alot of pictures from my visit if you want to see more of him. Just email me.

He will never make it stateside. A breeder I talk to quite ofte in AZ tried to buy him for a client with big bucks$$$. She said she swore to her husband that she would never sell the dog ever. I am probably getting a puppy from him from that same breeder. He is importing a couple pups from Umbro and Olanda vom Storchengassle. Umbro has some pups in Germany that are doing well right now.

If you like Umbro Von Sittard then take also a look on Filou Von Räuberweg.

I think Karl and Umbro are in two different categories. Karl was sold young after a couple good placings. Umbro is already at the top. There is a difference between buying a prospect and buying a top dog.

The way I took it was that her husband had died and asked her not to ever sell him. That may be wrong but for some reason I understood it that way. Anyway this man supposedly was willing to offer way more than the dog was worth but she said he would never be for sale and this was before money was even discussed.

As far as Filou goes...Filou has been a popular dog but is more of just a show dog. Same breeder friend had a Filou daughter but her bite went bad at about 1 year. He said she was as sweet as could be but zero drive. I love his head though. I am sure that as many times as he has been bred (and to some nice females) he is bound to throw some good offspring. For me, I want my next pup to have tons of drive and so I think I will stick to a male that has it.

Re: Opinion about Umbro vom Sittard

Umbro for me is excellent dog, very large, great worker, great structure. I feel blessed to have 11 puppies sired by him. From the pictures I have seen of his young offspring he is throwing large size, bone, excellent heads, large ears with correct ear set but not to many shown yet. He has an excellent pedigree with great dogbase #'s.

Re: Opinion about Umbro vom Sittard

He is a nice dog. I have seen alot of great pictures of him. When considering a puppy from any breeding look at both sides of the pedigree. Also look at siblings of the dam and sire of possible puppy. My biggest thing I would look at is health ratings. Also look at previous offspring and where they are at how many were in the litter if they had health testing done all that great stuff.
