2004 National Sieger Show - FINAL WORD

Hello everyone. First off, I would like to take the time to thank everyone that has supported our klub for the National Sieger Show - either by entering a dog, sponsoring a trophy, donating raffle items or just sent an e-mail offering to help! The entries have closed - the catalog is printing - and the chaos begins...

To date, we have 259 conformation entries, 2 ADs, 2 BSTs and 1 ABST. The entries for the $1,000 Protection Tournament have also closed. Leaving us with 14 entries. We did not think we were going to be able to confirm this, but we have booked a video crew that will tape all of Saturdays events. All three Breed Tests as well as the Protection Tournament and the Fastest Dog/Tug-A-War competitions. He will offer a special price, somewhere in the ballpark of $42 for a DVD at the show or more money if you order a copy afterwards. Turn around time will be 6 weeks before you receive it. Entries HAVE NOT CLOSED for the Fastest Dog and the Tug-A-War competitions. We will be accepting entries the day of the competition. Including all of the above activities, I am proud to announce we have OVER 300 entries to-date!!!!!

Just to give everyone an idea of the events of the weekend. The EB Meeting is on Thursday, at the Ramada Inn in Newburgh, NY. EB meeting will start at 11am - 6pm. There will be a hot buffet lunch for all attending. All EB Members have been paid and accounted for. Any members that were NOT on the EB and REPLIED to my e-mails asking who was attending have also been paid for for lunch. If you plan on attending and have not been in touch with me, you will be responsible to pay for your lunch at the Ramada!!! (guys, I have my list, I know who you are that told me you were attending *wink*). Please be sure to be at the meeting to see who is running for office as well as being part of making our USRC a stronger organization. For those of you that are interested in coming to the show site to help set up, work dogs, etc on Thursday, club members will be available who are not at the EB Meeting to help you anyway they can.

From speaking to some of you attending, I have the Ramada Inn, HomeStead Suites, Super 8 (Newburgh), Super 8 (Middletown), HoJo (Middletown) as hotels that everyone has reserved rooms in. I will be sure to have directions to the show site/judges dinner from Thursday on. If you are staying elsewhere, please notify me at HVRSK@aol.com so I can get some directions from your hotel to the show.

Friday will be all puppy and youth classes. PLEASE BE ADVISED, HVRSK ALWAYS HAS HUGE BREAKFAST SPREADS at our show (everyone already knows about our lunches). No need to hit the diner before the show - we will be ready for you:-) There will be a FULL BAR available after the noon hours at the show all three days. Saturdays events will be a fun-filled day of activities. If you have not entered your dog in the fun, please do so!!! For anyone that has not reserved a spot for the judges dinner, we have a confirmed number of 75 already - PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN COMING...we are running out of room and will not go over 100. We will also have a full bar at the judges dinner, games and prizes throughout the evening. Arturo will be our DJ for the evening...

Starting Friday, we will have a SILENT AUCTION going on. You need not be present to win. Each item will run up for auction for three days. Closing Sunday, at 10am. If you choose to bid on an item, shipping is available but must be paid by the purchaser. We have everything from giant sized Rottweiler Stuffed animals, weathervanes, Rottweiler steins, jewlery, Harley Davidson leather leashes & collars, tons of Rottweiler statues...and the list goes on and on. We also would like to send a HUGE thank you out to Chuck Wilson and TriTronics for donating a Pro500 Electric Collar - which will also be up at the auction. Raffle tickets will be sold at the registration desk to support our Search & Rescue Facility/Schutzhund Field that will be up and running by the end of this summer. Third prize is a DVD/CD player, 2nd prize is a Digital Camera - and the big 1st prize is a LCD FLAT SCREEN 17'' TV (20'' in size with the frame). The starting price for the TV retails at $1,500. Chances are $1.00 a piece - once we run out of raffle tickets - there will be no other possibilities to enter. Drawing will take place on Sunday.

I also would like to touch on the subject of vendors. We have OVER 12 VENDORS that will be present at the show. (so, ladies and gents, bring your wallets!!!). Our vendors range from our sponsor, Precise, 4 + equipment booths, Schutzhund articles and gripper equipment, 2 raw food distributors, a kennel floor company (must see), a custom ROTTWEILER tile designer for your home, tailgate locks for your RV & SUVs, numerous T-shirt companies, WT Thermo trailers...just to name a few.

We look foward to seeing some old friends and meeting new ones over next week! If we can be of any assistance during your stay, feel free to ask us. We are so excited that everthing has fallen into place - and hope that you remember this years Sieger Show for years to come!!!! See you next week and good luck to all competitors!!!!

Do you have the breakdown # of dogs & bitches per class posted anywhere?

No, you are thinking AKC. The breakdown and number per class is not generally as important at Sieger shows (no majors to hunt ) and is generally not posted before the show. It will all be in the catalog!

I was asking from more of a timing standpoint, as I was interested in watching some of the classes and was also thinking of the heat and temperature as to when we would be showing.

LOL...I was just teasing ya!

Registration starts at 8 a.m. Judging starts at 9 a.m. Lunch break will be taken at the judges discretion and is usually an hour. Judging will go on throughout the day until all the classes are judged..or we run out of light...

It is expected to be warm...high's in the upper 70's to mid 80's and lows in the upper 50's to mid 60's.
