trying to breed my male but he won't hump the bitch!

hello all, trying to breed my male who happens to be a son of a three time seiger to a female of same standards, but he would not do it! he humps her for a sec and not continue, mind u the female is ready and standing still for him with her tail to the side! I am afraid to miss her heat. they have been together for 2 days so far! thanks in advance

is it hot? Most people I know in hot places do breedings at night

Have you had the bitch progesterone tested to see if she is actually ready? Many males will not breed if the bitch has not ovulated

on the contrary, it is cold. & no I did not check the progesterone level, but this is her 12th day in heat and the discharge changed color to hayish pink & she is just standing still and looking ready!

Re: trying to breed my male but he won't hump the bitch!

I have had bitches stand and get pregnant at day 10 and others not until day 25! also if you are leaving them together stop. Just put them together once a day

and before people jump on me for giving you advice, this poster is in a foreign Country

That said, since you have been a member here a VERY long time I am hoping you went ahead and had the male and females health checks done-even if you had to send the results out of the Country for evaluation?

Re: trying to breed my male but he won't hump the bitch!

It sounds like your bitch isn't ready. I had a bitch that we were trying to breed and her progesterone was up there, but the male would not breed her until her 18th day and we ended up with 9 pups. And then I have had a bitch breed on 11 and 12 and another on day 14.

How old is the male? How old is the female? Has either dog been bred before?

can be. Breeding is never a guarantee that all will go well. Especially with two virgins

Sometimes the pair eventually get it together and sometimes not
