Re: How Can I find Pedigree Information

I finally had a good amount of time to look at Raunzer's pedigree on PawVillage since returning from vacation.

Fozzy and I can imagine how handsome Raunzer must have been after seeing the pictures of his ancestor's on PawVillage, especially his Bruin v. Hungerbuhl who is a remarkably handsome dog.

The stories of you and Raunzer gave Fozzy the biggest smiles. How nice to receive the title: "Most-Like Carl." She thinks that Raunzer must have been very good with children. She believes it runs in the family.

She never knew it possible to have a car tire for a toy, as well as carry a bowling ball around in ones mouth. That had to have been one amazing jaw and quite the mental picture.

Fozzy says your handsome fellow must have looked very regal with that yellow bandana around his neck and would have been very proud to walk side by side with him.

You have many happy memories of Raunzer. It saddened us to here that you had to say good bye to him and we are sorry for your loss. He was so strong and noble right to the end. He was very fortunate to have you as such a loving caring friend.

Fozzy thinks it special that her cousin is looking after her and sends smiles to him at the Bridge. The stories and knowing something about one of her relatives will always have a special place in her heart.

Thank you for sharing these precious memories with us.

Dawn

Sorry about the spelling,Don't know how the z got in there.Or why I added his name in the first place.
Glad to see someone fixed it already.
So many of our dogs can be traced back to some of the late great.
Here is the link to my dog Elwood who can be traced back to some of those dogs as well..

Re: How Can I find Pedigree Information

Came back today after being away for awhile...visited PawVillage to look at Elwood's pedigree. He is such a handsome boy, and so accomplished...

...Congratulations on his Best in Multi Breed Show winner on 6/8/2008.

I was quite tickled to see his picture and know that I possess the same picture on 2 journals I recently purchased. These will truly be family albums for Fozzy with a relative on the cover and stories of Halbadel and Elwood included on the pages within.

If Fozzy did indeed come from a pet store, Fozzy is virtually certain to be the product of a miller.

A puppy mill owned and operated by a miller.

If you don't know what this means, Google puppy mills.
Part of learning about back yard breeding and how to prevent it is learning about what should be done prior to breeding a dog. Looking at pedigrees, seeing what is and isn't there is a step in the right direction. Just because Fozzy doesn't have the correct "pedigree" doesn't mean that it isn't worth the research. To assist in stopping the cycle requires that you understand the cycle first. That can only come through understanding code of ethics breedings.

Best of luck on your research.

Re: How Can I find Pedigree Information

Rottlva,
Thank you for your best wishes.
If you look back in some of the posts you will find that I have had excellent wonderful help with the pedigree. There are links to PawVillage in this thread that show Fozzy's Pedigree, as well as links to Pedigrees of a couple Rotties she is related to.
