i was just wondering...do dogs change after being bred?

i was just wondering about when you hear that wolfs or wild dog packs only let the alpha female and male breed because they are top dog
how does this work in a human pack ie a breeder.i presume the human would be alpha but what happenes when they breed their dogs?do their dogs change?think they are the alpha?
or does a good dog owner/breed know how to keep everyone in their place?can a stud dog take over the house?
just for the record my female is fixed i just wondered how a breeder with many dogs keep the pack running smooth
any thoughts?

Re: i was just wondering................

at my house, i am the alpha!
it's called training and socialization.
we have our routines. they are all intact at present moment(3 females and 1 male).2 of the 4 have been bred before.
at feeding time, they each sit and wait for me to say ok before they start eating.
they each know which is their crate.
there is an order to go in and out.
all my dogs get worked in obedience and we practice it around the house.
some call it NILIF(nothing in life is free)method.

That's such an interesting question! I can't wait to hear some answers! I, too, have heard that top dogs get to breed, so would a dog that's been bred get a little full of themselves? :)

Re: i was just wondering................

Our dogs are not wild. Their breeding had directed and manipulated by humans for about 15,000 years of domestic habitation which has radically modified their habits.

Re: i was just wondering................

ours maybe not wild but they still require some of the same things of their wild cousins
ie
pack
to know where there place is in this pack
direction be it from us(pets not wild dogs) or an older dog

like the wild pack

so would a stud dog after a few leg overs belive he has moved up in the pack???
has anyone seen a change to their breed dog??

In my limited experience, I have seen non-working dogs get a bit "uppity" where dogs that have an on-going working relationship with their owners don't seem to "go there".
