| Re: breeding I know someone who has a Champion dog with a level bite and failed OFA. She said, "oh you can use him as a stud, HD is not in my lines" I asked her then why did he not pass. She told me he 'slipped as a young dog and injured himself" I don't buy it. she also explained his bite went off because he opens the door with his teeth. |

| Re: breeding Again, it comes down to you doing your research for your puppy. Buying a puppy based on what 'hot' right now, well, that is stupid for anything, especially a living breathing thing. If you are finding breeders who are unethical, chances are, it is no secret. Keep looking, researching, and you will find something. Not every member of a COE club is going to adhere to the rules, we all know that. BUT, there are going to be plenty that do. Kristi

| Re: breeding I think genetics play a big role, but I think there are other important factors also (proper exercise and food), and they will play a part in how bone structure develops.

| Re: breeding Trina, used to be quite common,it's on the inside of the lip, It's not done with a needle, actually a very quick procedure. The USRC requires a tattoo or chip for identification, which is a good idea for any dog. By the way people what are the current USRC regs. for tattoo or chip placement? |

| Re: breeding Linedog, a dog would not be disqualified for a number tatooed in its mouth (and I have not heard of this; identifying tatooes are generally in the ear or inside the thigh). The tatoo referred to would be all over the mouth to conceal a light pigment. |

| Re: breeding I don't beileve they are speaking of a tattood number but darkening a dog's pigmentation by tattooing. I have heard that some people have done this to dogs with pink mouth pigmentation |
