| Re: Sickening just sickening-What newspaper ads from Puppy Mills look like I was looking at the photos on the website today and one thing I noticed is that none of the dogs had any 'light" or joy in their eyes. It made me very sad. :( |

| Re: Sickening just sickening-What newspaper ads from Puppy Mills look like My suggestion? Look up a true breeder website and all the qualification and titles that are listed under their dogs and bitches. You'll see lots of pictures of the dogs with their handler with the judge and the award. I don't see any of those on their website. That in and of itself would make me uneasy...

| Re: Sickening just sickening-What newspaper ads from Puppy Mills look like They can always find someone to come on here and defend them, whether the story they tell us is true or not (or whether they really are who they say they are). The problem is, there's other stories on this same thread from people who had a very different (and UNPLEASANT) experience with these people, who clearly can't be bothered with OFA or breed standards. If a truly healthy dog comes from this place, it's just dumb luck.

Now keep in mind, we made the choice to RESCUE Nina. We still had no idea what we were getting into. YOU HAVE A CHOICE to NOT BUY from a BYB. And to try and justify your actions by making pointless statements like "get a job", well, that just shows the extent of your ignorance.

| Re: Sickening just sickening-What newspaper ads from Puppy Mills look like Nina's mom... I am so sorry to hear you went through such hell to take care of your baby. She is lucky to have you for an owner :) Buttt, please don't waste your time responding to them anymore. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize these are obviously people from the kennel. Pathetic. I certainly don't find it a coincidence that they joined in April of 2007... about 5 days after someone called your "kennel" out... and just now posted?? And I honestly was going to chalk it up to the fact that PERHAPS you were here to learn something, but I assure you, had you been reading since April of 2007, you certainly would know that you were taken for a fool by that kennel. Now if this IS someone from the kennel..... You may fool a LOT of people but you simply cannot fool the educated. I find it extremely funny that your one rebutle was about going outside....there was a WEALTH of information stated that obviously couldn't be disputed.... We have tried to give solid advice...we welcomed you to stay and learn...and I am certain you have learned nothing from this board other than phoney lingo to try and pass your dogs off as the standard. This not only saddens me, but it angers me. You CANNOT bs your way around OFA numbers however...and we called your bluff. Why don't you just certify your dogs? If you honestly cared THAT much about the breed, you would be CERTAIN you were producing top notch pups. I am so disappointed that our breed has become so watered down. Most back yard breeders are in it for the money... but trying to pass yourself off as someone who give a crap about the breed...THAT'S where you struck a cord...and THAT'S my problem. Not one person who loves a breed with everything they are would EVER do you're doing... NEVER. You care so much?? Really? To produce a dog who could ultimately live a life of 5 years OR less in PAIN. Nevermind the pain that the owners and their children will have to do through, financially AND emotionally. (But you wouldnt know anything about that with 45 pups at $900 a pop.) What about the wimpering and the sad crys from the SUFFERING that dog will have to withstand??? Not being able to get up off of the floor, not being able to sit for a treat. Just lay there in pain, in complete sadness until the day we can't take it anymore and say a long goodbye to our dear friend. Do you know what that feels like? To look into a dogs eyes as they are being put down? A look of complete and udder sadness. Their eyes PLEAD for you not to, but you know you must. They tug at your heart strings as they look at you that final time. You try to say good bye, but the words just can't come together. Your heart breaks at that very moment, and you know theirs is too. I can assure you, if you understood what that was like, you would not be as irresponsible in your practices. You would do everything you could to ensure that wouldnt happen. I pray that you just choose not to open your eyes to all of this and that you will do these dogs justice. You are creating these little lives and it can be done so much better. If you aren't going to take any of the advice given to you in good faith, then just please leave here and stop posting. But I can promise you, if you wanted to try and do things differently, we would all be here to support you, share information, and our love for this breed. |

| I have seen a current ad for this breeder...fluffy little ad with a quick mention of AKC and cost. We just had to say goodbye to our girl 2 weeks ago. We figure that if we start now to research a good breeder in our area(any reccomendations are appreciated ), we can perhaps be placed on a waiting list. We have an 11 month old child that needs our primary attention right now, but assuming a reputable breeder won't have 50+ pups to pick from, we should be ready to bring a new pup into our hearts once our child is a bit less completely dependent. I hope this doesn't sound wrong. Our older children miss our Lexy, so we know a dog will once again be in our future, but not from a breeder like this one. I am so gratefull for this site steering me away from mills, but hope to be guided in the right direction for my area. |

| Re: Sickening just sickening-What newspaper ads from Puppy Mills look like OH my heart just sank to the bottom of my chest faster than a blink of an eye. In all honesty, I did NOT do enough research before we bought Sascha. We wanted a rottie puppy and it just so happened that a co-worker's female just had a litter. I had NO idea about BYBs and Kimbertal and etc. Our girl's momma was a breeding female from Kimbertal in this person's home and the stud was brought in by Kimbertal. What have I done! I helped this BYB - I love my girl and would not trade her for anything in this world because I know I'm giving her a good home but now I know why she may have this problem with her elbow. I only wish I would have done more reseach and found this site sooner. |

| Re: Sickening just sickening-What newspaper ads from Puppy Mills look like The only things you can do are 1.) Love your Sasha with all of your heart and keep doing a fantastic job, and 2.) educate others as to what a BYB is and help them to avoid making the same mistake. :) I hope her elbow is okay. |

I hope the only thing wrong with Sascha is her elbows, Kimbertal dogs are riddled with all sorts of other health and temperament problems. ![]() Gina

| Re: Sickening just sickening-What newspaper ads from Puppy Mills look like Here's a little something I've found. Talk about a byb! They don't seem to even know that's what they are! I actually found a site in Georgia where they are going to be breeding a 9 mo female! The male is "about" 200 lbs! On their site they state they breed to educate the public! The male "stud" dog was given to them as the original owners gave him up because his other dogs were fighting with him. The stud fee is $400.00 if anyone is interested Their current breeding female was saved by them from a local byb at 5 weeks because they didn't think she would survive! Of course, they are German Rotties (blood boiling at this point) and will only breed their "stud" to a German or CKC registered female! This is ALL on their site!

| Re: Sickening just sickening-What newspaper ads from Puppy Mills look like ok, I just sat and read all 36 pages of this and I must say I am ashamed that I live even close to this woman. Trust me, I will do everything in my power to get this woman shut down. I know a few people that may be able to help here in Pittsburgh, PA. I will run ads in the news papers around here for people to NOT buy a puppy from this puppy mill if that is what it takes! We lost our Mattie to cancer almost three years ago and it crushed us..before we knew she had cancer (happened over a course of two months and was VERY sudden) we brought an English Mastiff into our home and had done research for over a year before we bought her. We wanted another Rottie and did research for two years on breeders and I saw her ad and didn't even bother to call this woman. We started coming to these boards and reading and doing more research. Honestly, we got lucky because it was about this time that Ron had announced his breeding of Junky and Quincy. I understand everyone here is very big on titles and such however with what had happened to us in the past with Mattie health was an important issue to us. We emailed Ron basically to get more information and if he could point us in the right direction. We were sure all the puppies from this little were spoken for considering they were heirs to Ballou. When Ron told us he may have a couple left we were shocked and considered it a blessing. We spent many months doing research for a "working" dog. We wanted one that we could train for tracking and SAR work.Sorry for such a rant, I just cant believe this woman is still getting away with this!!!! |
