Re: Sickening just sickening-What newspaper ads from Puppy Mills look like

I finally found out that only Tank has OFA Certification and was told that none of her females or other males are OFA. I was told when I bought the dog the parents were OFA certified. They told me the only way to get a new dog was to put my dog down. I was sick when they told me this. I love my dog he is great besides the hip problems but I know I would never buy another dog from Wentling Mountain Kennels. Shelly talks about there kennels being great. Well just to let everyone know they were cited for sanitation conditions and ventilation conditions. It was on the news.

This is not something you have to take somebody's "word" on. OFA records are PUBLIC. You could have easily checked these records for yourself prior to purchase at Orthopedic Foundation for Animals . All you need is the dog's registered name or registration number to see if they have OFA clearances. Dog's that are not listed can be assumed to have not been tested, or if tested, can be assumed to have failed the test and the owner has chosen not to reveal that little detail.

And this is how they circumvent the health problems. Of course you are going to love the dog you've come to know and if his medical problems can be treated without undue suffering on his part, why would you want to put him down? They're BANKING on that. Literally. Never sign a contract you can't live with. And you're absolutely correct.....if you've purchased one puppy from them with health problems, why would you go back for more? Only a fool would do that.

Re: Sickening just sickening-What newspaper ads from Puppy Mills look like

I know this is an old thread, I am new to RDN and the title caught my eye. I have read everypage and post, I have even looked at the "new" website for the kennel. I am so very sorry to say that I have to agree with that has been said. As to Ms. Wentling having a lawyer to sue tamie k. for slander...Mrs. Tamie k. do you realize that in every one of Mrs. Wentlings post she has continued to harrass, and threaten you? My suggestion is a counter-suit if she can find a lawyer to sue you for your freedom of opinion and speech. I have seen some sick, mean, ungodly things in my life but nothing comes close to a puppymill or uninformed BYB. I think all the name calling and bashing did no good, as she is still selling puppies. I cannot thank you all enough for letting the public know where NOT to BUY puppies. There are always other choices...Iappalud you all for your love of the breed, the well handling of your own family members (not pets), and for wanting to educate and provide resources for new and old Rottie companions.

Re: Sickening just sickening-What newspaper ads from Puppy Mills look like

I just wanted to thank Tammy K for starting this thread. With the number of hits this thread has had, you guys really made a difference, and it shows.

I realized while halfway through reading, I actually CALLED this particular 'breeder' while searching for our rottie!!!! I had learned enough on this site to not go through with it when I was told how she would have another litter in a few days. I was appauled and I am so thankful I did not go through with it.

Unfortunately I hadn't learned enough and got suckered into another smooth talking 'breeder' in New Jersey. You can never know too much...please stay on this site and learn.

We can't stop people from doing immoral things, but we can expose them and we can educate. I am so grateful for this site. No one gets paid to answer the questions, it's out of sheer love and devotion to this bread and I will be forever grateful to this site for all it has given me.

I am proud to be a memeber of this site :)

Love the pick of them on the opening page...can you say "redneck"???
Now, I'm upset....can't believe that anyone would buy a puppy from here.

Pshh, what clearances? LOL The OFAs are extremely important and should be listed first.... not assumed they have them where it's listed "etc.". LOL. Any breeder who has OFAs should proudly display them, if you have them they are the best thing TO put on your site....

The pictures of the new owners is what crushes me the most. Getting your pup is such a wonderful and proud moment, and I can only imagine the amount of heartache these people might end up going through.

Those poor puppies :(

Yes! I was praying that maybe we had really help to teach her something and that perhaps things had gotten better......

I found it really odd that they kept referring to themselves as Mr. and Mrs. Wentling all the time

Not to mention their descriptions of the dogs... very nice stance, dark coloring, likes to lick faces Yeesh!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Between April 27th and May 25th, there were 4 litters of puppies born! You would think with the amount of money they're making they would be able to afford an actual staff to take care of thier dogs....

And they've been "very successful" -- yes, in taking money from buyers who unfortunately don't know any better.

Re: Sickening just sickening-What newspaper ads from Puppy Mills look like

Well, I am officially physically sick to my stomach...and heart broken.

One of their females (lord knows we cannot refer to as a bitch) is 8 years old, going to have her 4th litter soon and then be retired to another home to spend the rest of her years?!?!? This completely breaks my heart. Does she not know the life span of the rottweiler?! The rest of her years?! There aren't too many of those years left. I couldn't imagine having a dog for 8 years and then 'retiring' her when she cannot have anymore pups :( That doesn't seem like she has too much value too these people other that $$ value. Poor baby :(

"Bodacious "Bo" Meet Bodacious she is a CKC registered rottweiler whos owner just had her bred with Hemi. Bo weighs in at a whopping 160 pounds and she is all muscle!!!!!WOW!!!!! "
Welcome to Wentling Mountain Kennels | Home of the rottweilers and pomeranians

I am appauled at the fact they think this poor dog is all muscle....anyone with working eyeballs can CLEARLY see she is overweight :( I have heard of a Male being 160 and that is terribly overweight itself...but a female?!?!?!?!

Come on now, anyone can google the standard weight of a rottweiler....this isn't rocket science.
