Need Your Advice

Hi 3Rottys,
Well you don't say exactly when she was bred but I usually count 59 to 64 days from the actual tie at about the 50th day I start taking her temperature 2 times daily at the same times each day. I have found that when the temp drops 1.5 to 2 degrees the bitch will normally whelp within 24 hrs. If your bitch has gone past that 64th day I would definately call my vet and let them know and your vet can advise you what to do from there. Hope this helps if not now perhaps in the future.

This is the first time I've had a bitch go past her due date and I'm absolutely positive she tied only one time. How long should she be allowed to go past her due date before seeking medical attention. I'm sure I'm just panicking since it's only one day late, but it's better to have the advice now. By the way, it's her first litter, only 2 to 4 pups, but they are large. She has showed no signs of labor.
