| When you are doing the breeding naturally, generally you allow the male to breed with the female for as long as she will stand there for him (accept him, which means ovulating within those days), giving breaks in between for the male to 'reload' so to speak. Some stud dog owners within their contacts allow for two natural breedings even if the bitch stands for longer. I think if I were a stud dog owner, I would simply allow the bitch to determine when she is done with the boy and if they breed 4 times within that period, so be it! Kristi

| I think for the very popular stud dogs, owners use the 2 breedings guarantee so that, if there are multiple bitches there at the same time, the bitch owners would know what they will get for sure. I would think that if it is a "slower" time, more breedings would/could be done. I would also think that the bitch owners would be advised if their bitch is to be there when other bitches are coming in as well. |
