Re: Champions/Breeding

To be fair, you can certainly see at least some bad bites as puppies.

Re: Champions/Breeding

Thank you all for the responses. With the first female puppy I purchased, I did in fact check for the bite and her teeth looked fine. The underbite did not show up for several months. On the male replacement pup I received, I did not get to pick the pup. When I received him and checked the bite, I called the breeder who told me that he would grow out of it, it has since, in the past five months gotten progressively worse underbite.
Can someone tell me how to resond off-list to someone??? Also, is there any way to stop breeders from running these puppy farms??? Something is terribly wrong when you can have some of the best bloodlines with not only conformation titles, but also schutzhund titles, OFA certifications etc. and selling puppies with severe faults.
Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I'll be brutally honest here. I will NEVER understand how someone can get a puppy with a disqualifying fault or incorrect temperament or failing health and accept ANOTHER PUPPY FROM THE SAME BREEDER! If it happened once - it could happen again. Obviously there is something going on in their lines that either:

a) They didn't know was there and they've got a long road ahead of them to work it out.
b) They didn't CARE was in their lines and bred anyway.

I'd simply get my money back. A good COE breeder, as this does happen because genetics aren't perfect, would refund your money. I couldn't personally take the risk (either financially or emotionally) of getting another puppy with a DQ fault.

Just my humble opinion. Now of course - there are exceptions to every rule - but my default answer would have to be no and I'd have to be convinced of otherwise.
