Doing some research and could use some help.

I have decided that at the age of 40, I need to do something important with my life. I am passionate about putting a stop to BSL and puppy mills. I feel that to do this, I need to be as informed as possible. I have been doing some searching on the internet and that is going along just fine. I was hoping some of the people here could help.

I am looking for books or websites that address genetic illnesses in all breeds of dogs.

If anyone can think of anything else that might be helpful that doesn't have to do with genetics, feel free to throw that in too. I have an empty filing cabinet, a new ink cartridge and plenty of printer paper.

Thanks.

(please don't tell everyone how old I am! I really want to be 25 again!)

http://www.greatdanerescueinc.com/de...retheydeaf.htm There is info. in the last paragraph re: genetics & deafness

This one looks possibly good... http://www.vetinfo4dogs.com/dinherit.html

These are ones that I found on a quick search & hopefully one of them might help you.

Good luck Sandi & again let me know if there is anything that I can do.

I must be using the wrong search engine! Thanks Brooke.

I took a creative writing class in college and almost had a story published. I have always wanted to write a book. I would love to write a book about puppy mills and the complications that buying from puppy mills can cause.

I will check out those links.

Thanks again.

Also---just did another search on Amazon.com & sounds like this might be a good book to check out....

"Control of Canine Genetic Diseases" by George A. Padgett

& also this book which hasn't been released yet. I'm not sure when it will be out....

Okay, now I'm finding more. Some are out of print but you may be able to locate them online at used booksellers.

Hope that helps!
