where do these people come from and why are their lives so sad that they feel the need to play these kind of games?

Starting these types of arguments intentionally helps no one, especially the breed.

Now their pretty much grown up and running around the yard. Just about 6 months ago I saw the male rottie try to mate with my female but for some reason he will only try for a while then he stops.

The female doesn't mind but after the male keeps going after her a while she will get mad.

This keeps on happening but nothing gets done .Any advise because it seems like the male would get tired and quit trying.

Any advise?
First I changed your post a bit in the quote so people could understand what you were asking. I also had to do this so I could understand it. I'm assuming you were asking how to make sure the breeding takes place. Well we have lots of threads around here on proper breeding and who should and should not breed. You should not at this time till you better educate yourself a little bit on what needs to be done. Please fix your dogs or keep them apart when your female is in season till you get more educated......;)

Burnsie,

You were being so nice and polite in your post.

Leave breeding to the experts, it is clear that you are not one.:(

This almost sounds like a joke or something. Could this person be real about mating two dogs of apparently unkown parentage. For what? Please, Nasty, don't mate your dogs without a lot more information and then don't mate your dogs because you will not be doing the puppies or your dogs any favors.

Have both your dogs gotten all of their health clearances(i.e. have they both had their hips OFA'd, hearts, eyes, elbows certified as free from disease or deformities)? What makes these 2 dogs worthy of being bred? Do you have any titles on them?

Please see the sticky at the top of this forum entitled "The reason for the passion AGAINST breeding "nice dogs" .

Hi Nasty50
Do not take this reply in a negetive manner. But if your male could not get
the job done ,It is my opinion he is not a male suitable for breeding. He should be
be fixed because he is not a good representative of our breed. My male
Etzel has taken care of business each and everytime with great success. While you are taking care of your male getting spayed maybe you can get get an addtional discount from your vet if you have your female spayed at the same time.

:) :) ;) ;) :p :p :p Scott

From what you say in this thread http://www.rottweiler.net/forums/sho...threadid=30898 you absolutely positively should not even think about breeding your male, EVER. Do your dogs and the breed a favor and have them both spayed and neutered.

I am if you carelessly breed your dogs and come here looking for ways to fix it. If you come here looking for good solid advice and intend to LISTEN to what people tell you, then you will learn alot about the breed and WHY you should not breed your pair.

Sounds like you have done nothing to PROVE they are worthy of carrying on the Rottweiler name...that being said, I'm sure your dogs are good looking, and you love them, but that is no reason to breed them.

You needs to have already spent alot of time and money investing in proving these dogs in conformation and other show venues, as well as making sure they pass all health clearances. Just because people tell you the dogs are good looking and have wonderful temperaments is no reason to breed them...do those people want a pup from your dogs??

Send them to the the breeder you purchased your pup from..but AFTER sending them to PetFinder or another pet search engine and seeing the THOUSANDS to rotties out there already looking for homes - even puppies. As of today, and only if the shelters have updated their sites, there are 2770 rotties of all ages waiting in shelters for homes...

Don't carelessly add to the overpopulation of rotties out there...many on death row simply because they are rotties. Take the time to educate yourself on the breed and get the dogs educated via obedience training. Also, check out SpayUSA - you can get low cost spay/neuter certificates....use them.
