large boned

Ok maybe stupid question but . How can you tell if your pup/dog is well big boned as they say? everyone always say look at the parents . My pup parents well the father was pretty big wide and mom looked about the norm for female rotties so wheredoes that put my pup?

Well with my girl Diva, as well as my girl at the Bridge, they both had huge feet and huge leg bones. Diva was like that especially. She looked like a little monster truck. She is over sized at 28" tall and 120 pounds. Sheena was the same size as well. They also had more loose skin as pups then I recall many other puppies being like.

Diva's parents were of the correct size standard, and she is much bigger then the both of them. I never saw Sheena's father, but I was told he was bigger then her mother. Sheena's mother was about the same size as Sheena was.

I don't know if that is like this with all dogs, but it was an observation for mine.

You can see a heavily boned puppy at 8 weeks. Although you can't always tell how heavily boned they will be at a later age. Looking at the parents won't tell you what type of boning your dog will have because puppies will often resemble a grand parent rather than a parent.

You just need to have other dogs to compare of you do not know what you are looking for.
