looking for a new pup

ii have a 7yr old male,Harley. he lost his sister Keisha to lymphoma in september.i am looking for a female pup to keep him company,if anybody knows of a good breeder in the montreal area please let me know

I would suggest, as many others have, that you find a dog show in your area, attend, watch the rotties and then ask to speak to the breeders/handlers/owners of the dogs you liked...

Do a search on these forums for a list of questions you should ask someone whose dogs you like...the breeder should be ready able and willing to answer all of your questions...if not, move on. Also, be ready to WAIT for the perfect dog for your family and lifestyle...be patient...the really good breeders know what they are doing and it is worth the wait.

I would also suggest that you go to the Rottweiler Club of Canada website www.rottclub.ca
There are code of ethics breeders listed there.....but you must do your research.

Also if you can get a copy of the Dog's In Canada annual year end edition....there are some good breeders listed there.

Be prepared to wait for a puppy from a good breeder and be prepared to be grilled by the breeder.

Quebec has no Rottweiler rescue....but you could look at your local shelter for a Rott too...there seems to be alot of them there with very little chance of adoption.:(
