Pedigree and OFA Registration for Oscar

After reading just about every post on this great site over the last three months I feel that I am ten time's the rottweiler owner I would have been w/o what I have learned here. Oscar, my wife and I thank you all. With that said, I still can not decipher Oscar's pedigree. Which is good I think, I am seeing lots of OFA's and SCh, and a few V's. I know what the OFA and SCh is, I believe the V is from Sieger shows? So I guess if I just post the Sire and Dam's info the rest of the pedigree should follow. I would be interested in input on Oscar's line from people with much more knowledge than myself.

I would say the only important thing is that you are happy with Oscar and his pedigree. Have you ever seen his parents?

Hollycroft Son and Heir call name Clutch, is owned by Hollycroft rottweilers and his webpage can be found by going to google and typing in the name... Clutch was ARV 2002 National Seiger

The man wants to learn about what the different terms on his dog's pedigree mean, what's wrong with that? He's interested in learning more about his dog's lines and this forum is full of people who are likely to know, why tell him that his interest isn't important?

Sorry LJSmith, I don't know what they mean, hopefully someone here who does will post. My dog's pedigree has Swedish short forms (like "kup" for "docked tail") on it, my breeder explained them to me, I'd have been lost otherwise.

Ok I am sorry didn't realize you were wanting title explanations
a V rating is a german style(USRC,ARV etc.) conformation rating... it translates to excellent.. a V-1 would mean he received a V rating and a 1st place of the group... multi V rated would mean he received a rating of excellent more then once and a Multi V-1 rating would mean he received the rating of excellent AND 1st in the class more then once.

The IPO is a protection title... sorry not familiar with IPO.

the OFA26G means Clutch was xrayed at 26 months old and received a rating of good, EL26 means his elbows were also done at 26 months and passed, same for the dam xrays at 26 months except her rating is excellent :P the rest is AKC numbers and birthdates hope this helps :P

I met his mother, grandfather, and grandmother. All very solid, cobby, and richly colored. I did not meet the father, but did a lot of research on him via the Hollycroft site. I loved his grandfather, beautiful headpiece and very people oriented. Apparently Oscar is the mirror image of his grandpa. We could not be happier with the way Oscar is developing physically and mentally. I was curious as to if anyone had ever heard of or seen any of the dogs further down the line. I am confident they were wonderful animals.

IPO is very similar to Schutzhund, and it entails the 3 phases of tracking, obedience, and protection.

Thank you, what you gave me is what I was looking for. The health certs were most important. I got the colored copies from the breeder and assumed correctly everything she told me was true, which it was. It is nice to know now how to read the hipand elbow codes. Thanks again to all.

I don't know what your problem is but I never did say there was anything wrong with what he asked! And if you read his post, you would see that he did say he knew what the titles did mean.

It's to bad most of us don't use the smilies. I think more often than not people read into people's posts and induce a different tone than the writer intended. I did not see your post as negative Rott-Wiley, but thanks for backing me up anyway spidey. I am off to play frisbee with the dog.

Woah...my only "problem" is that he asked for explanations of what some terms meant (not titles) and you told him that the only important thing was that he was happy with his dog and pedigree. Sorry if I misread you, but it seemed to me that he was asking for help deciphering the pedigree and you basically told him it wasn't important. No offense was intended. :)

I wasn't trying to be negative in my original response. What one person likes in a rottweiler may not necessarily what another person does and what is important is that you like the dog you have. And if you saw the parents, that should be a good general idea of what they would produce. That's all.
