worried

I just bred my female to my best male. Witnessed the mate and all, twice. The first tie was on the 3rd. of July and the 2nd. was on the 5th. There are no physical signs of the pregnacy. Can someone help me.

Breeding isn't a guarrenteed thing. Just because the dogs were bred, doesn't mean there will be puppies. I would take the bitch to the vet to make sure there are no puppies. If she did concieve and then aborted the litter, there still might be dead tissue that can cause life threatening problems if not taken care of. If she only has one or two puppies, then she may not be showing, but then may have trouble with labor and the puppies will not be born- another life threatening situation.
If she never was pregnant it could be that she wasn't fertile or your male isn't fertile. There is a lot more to breeding then just putting a dog and bitch together. In any case, it would be the safest thing to take the bitch to the vet and have her completely checked out.

Please take your dog to the vet. If you think that she should be pregnant and the pregnancy is in trouble then she needs medical care, not help from people who can't see or diagnose the dog.

What titles, certifications and medical tests has your best male had? Is it safe to assume that your bitch has had her medical tests run also? Both dogs are OFA certified, right? They are AKC registered, aren't they?

I, for one, hope that she IS NOT pregnant!

Sounds like you are mad at her because she is not pumping out more puppies for you.

Did you ever do an ultrasound to verify pregnancy? Just because you witnessed a breeding does not make puppies. If that is all you know about breeding, then you should not be involved in that activity.

It sounds like she's isn't pregnant or has a very small litter.

You should be able to see an enlarging abdoman by the time the pregnancy is seven or eight weeks along out of a nine week gestation. You can always take her to the vet and have an ultrasound or X-rays done to determine if there are any pups inside of her.
