You are not set up to receive private emails on the list. If you will email me privately, hopefully I can help you. We are not allowed to post breeders names on this list.

Do you know about Rottie rescue? It's possible to find the perfect dog for you and your lifestyle in rescue. Bona fide rescue groups temperament test their dogs, spay or neuter them prior to placement, & the dogs are UTD on vaccinations.

You can show your rescue dog in all AKC-sanctioned events (except conformation) even if your dog doesn't have papers by getting ILP from the AKC (which is easy to do).

Even if you decide to go the breeder route after researching rescue, you'll have learned about rescue--& that will make you a more knowledgeable dog person.

Also, consider an older dog because you don't have to start w/ a puppy to get a good dog.

Thanks, I know all about rescue. I work with various rescues and was an employee at our local humane society for quite awhile. I foster dogs and cats when the need arises, and this time I just felt like I would like to raise one of my own. Thank you for the suggestion though.

Good for you for being involved with rescue!

Then you're also aware that puppies are oten born into rescue after their pregnant moms enter rescue programs.

I am aware that puppies are born into rescue, but thankfully we do not have that problem so much here in my area. In fact, my local rottie rescue is not as busy as some of the other breeds. I think they have just not become very popular here, yet...

I'm *envious* of your situation--here, in the east (I'm a NERR vounteer) it's quite common to have bitches come into our program carrying a litter.
We typically have puppies & dogs of all ages in our program.

I wish God had made Rottie puppies really really ugly instead of really really cute. Perhaps if they were homely they wouldn't be so popular.
