Laws in California

I'm so what fairly new to BSL
To my understanding it has mainly taken an effect on APBT, but how does it affect other breeds. Since some people automatic apply it with any "aggressive" alike breed, n unfortunate people stereo type rotts.
How does BSL affect owners n future owners among the rott community??

Re: Laws in California

If you own a home in California, many insurance companies wont cover you if you have a Rottweiler

Re: Laws in California

Right now the only BSL that is in California has to do with SB861. SB861 passed about 2 years ago. What it says is that any local government can decide what breeds in their area have to be spayed or neutered. Supposely it not mean that the breeds the local government has named are "aggressive". A few areas have taken advantage of SB861 and have targeted "pit bulls".
There is no area that can make entire breeds be banned or wear muzzles or pay outragous insurance (ie $300,000 in liability) in CA.
