Re: laws in pennsylvania?

I don't know the laws between Fl and Pa, but just traveling through shouldn't be a problem. Make sure you have all your dogs health records handy. There is one important thing to consider. Make sure your dog is NOT loose in your vehicle. Either crate him or use doggie seatbelt. I heard a story a few years ago that scared me about traveling with dogs of our class. MV stop in Va or an accident, (can't remember which) pitbull jumped out of the car and police shot it. Restrain your pet, which you probably do already.

I am not aware of any breed restrictions in PA - but check with your vet about a form that vets have to fill out so you can take your dog into different states (sorry, can't remember what it is called, but I do know the form is the same one that is used if you put your dog on an airplane.

Re: laws in pennsylvania?

I am not aware of any breed specific laws in Delaware County. I live in the Phila area, and the one club I train with has a very large contingent of rotties (but it's in a diff. co.) They are a pretty popular breed around where I live too.
I would assume that the normal laws apply in DelCo: leash law, rabies law, pick-up-the-poop law.

If your dogs are microchipped, I would suggest that if they aren't already registered with a national ID registry, to do so before you leave (AVID PetTrac, AKC CAR, etc)

Re: laws in pennsylvania?

I don't think there are any breed specific laws in Pa. But if your dogs are not microchipped please have it done and get them enrolled (they don't do anything unless you have them enrolled). Also please make sure they are crated or restrained. I would also put ID tags on them on top of the microchip just in case as you need a scanner to find the chip. Also many places have a six foot leash, leash law. And the paper that the earlier person was talking about is a health certificate also make sure you have a rabies certificate and tag (as certain states you must also have the tag on the dog plus the certificate.)

Re: laws in pennsylvania?

I live in Delaware County PA with my Rottie boy. The woman who runs the county's dog licensing office is a neighbor and friend of mine. There isn't any BSL in the county.

You should be okay coming through VA. There aren't any breed specific laws that I know about.
