BSL in Turkey...

According to law established in 1999, breeding, selling and purchasing of Pit Bulls (Pit Bulls doesnt have a spesicif explanation) and Tosa's were forbidden in Turkey. Those, who have the mentioned breeds, are asked to have their dogs fixed and registered at the village veterinary services. If these dogs are reported as vicious, they will be put to sleep.

On 22nd of February (this Friday), there will be another meeting concerning "dangerous breeds". In this meeting it is said that breeds such as Rottweilers, Dobermanns, German Shepherd, Dogo Argentino, Belgium Shepherd, American Bulldog and Bullmastiff will be added to "Dangerous Dogs list".

The meeting will be held at ministry, and the participants will be from:
Ministry of Agriculture
5 reputable universitys veterinary faculties
Turkeys Science and Technological Reseach Foundation
Turkish Veterinarian Head Council
Dog Breeds and Dog Sciences Federation

We have been running a campaign about Rottweilers, what they were bred for in the beginning and what they are used for now.

We definetly need your help since, you have been dealing with BSL and we dont have any working rottweilers other than those in police ... (police department which deals with terrorism uses 3 Rottweilers and thats all)

Any help, which could be about your dog, or from the media will be really appreciated.
