since the deaths of the 2 people in livingston county last month the family of one of the victims are trying to get a law passed where a person can only own 3 dogs and out of those 3 only 1 can be of a "high risk breed" such as pit bulls, rottweilers, any other bully type.. Now I also left a comment that the owners that do own these breeds be responsible for "vet care, training, and if they say they cant afford it, then they shouldnt be allowed to own the dog PERIOD... Im not willing to rehome 1 of my dogs because of a womens negligence,.why isnt she being charged in any of this?? she left 10 DOGS in a pack running free, she had no kennel license and most people that do have their dogs in kennels so they dont run free...

That is ridiculous! A lot of places have restrictions on the numbers of dogs per properties (kennels, shelters and rescues excluded) but to restrict the number of a certain breed what an odd piece of legislation.

I cant even imagine 10 rotts in a pack all left alone and running after someone. They should have been properly locked in a kennel or else behind a fenced area with someone out there watching them. People like this give Rottweilers bad names!

Thumbs up Re: bsl in Michigan

I know your fear Gypsysmom. Yesterday was election day in Ontario, Canada. The same Government that imposed the Pittbull ban in Ontario a few years ago, was re-elected again. Dalton McGuinty of the Liberal Party stated that if he was ever re-elected again that he would go after more breeds. Guess what, he was re-elected and they won the majority. I am fearing for what will happen next as they will be targeting Rotts, Dobs, GSD, and other breeds considered bully breeds. Though I can understand why they were elected and won the majority. To me, it's not a good day in Ontario if you own a certain breed of dog.
