City council looking at dangerous dog ordinance (Sweeny, Texas)

Sweeny city council tabled a dangerous animal ordinance until council members and Police Chief Stroud have a chance to do some further research on the subject. Council members seemed interested in what their options are to prevent dog attacks because the police department had received several complaints, especially about pit bulls. City Attorney Charlie Stevenson, however, pointed out that Texas law prevents a city from banning a specific breed of dog.
