Oh my gosh, Michelle, that is soo sweet, thank you.... I have only been doing this for a year and still have so much to learn. There have been others (Jan and Karen immediately come to mind) that have been doing this for so much longer, years, that are the True Heroes!! Thank you though for your kind words!! I look forward to our chats on Myspace and educating our non- doggie and doggie friends alike.

Re: Video: The True Character of the Rottweiler

I just found and registered with this site today (great site, by the way!) and I think the video is fabulous - I became a blubbering baby thinking of my 10 year old rottie who passed away 2 1/2 years ago. I will definitely forward it to my family and friends! Thank you very much! :-)

Re: Video: The True Character of the Rottweiler

One more piece of ammo in a never ending struggle to change the public perception of a breed that many humans, simply put, do not deserve to share air-space with.

I am much happier since I have quit personalizing the fact that some think Ranger is 'vicious' and that we have no business having a 4 year old little girl and a Rottie living under the same roof.

In addition to video pieces such as this, I believe that the best thing that we can do to improve public perception is to make sure that our Rotts are the best behaved dogs when we walk out in public -- setting not just the example, but the standard for how all dogs should behave. Alertness, courtesy, compassion, and heaven knows a SENSE OF HUMOR!

Way to go!

Re: Video: The True Character of the Rottweiler

There is one story I didn't see in the video, which I read as a child. A paraplegic woman and her Rottie Eve rented a truck that caught fire. The woman pushed her dog out first, because her lungs would fill with smoke faster, and the dog came back and dragged her out of the truck before it exploded. I won't ever forget that story.

I will admit I got teary at the Rott who got shot.

I just saw this, I apologize for the delay, I've been deployed and just got back a couple of days ago... I REMEMBER THIS and you just reminded me about this dog and the lady... I wanna say I saw it on Miracle Pets or the Animal Planet???? I cried watching it, and Eve never gave up in saving her owner... What a magnificient and brave dog Eve was!! Thanks for reminding me of Eve!!

Re: Video: The True Character of the Rottweiler

Is there any way I could get one of you guys to email me this video? I have tried 20 times to view the clip and I can only get the first 7 seconds. I have a high speed connection and have tried everyting I can think of. The rest of the clips on YouTube work fine.......

Thanks

David
