Re: please go and vote NO!!!

Sigh... That's why I left Miami... Couldn't find a place to live... Got tired of people taking huge circles around us. Miami is a small dog city, I think 90 percent of apartments are either no pets allowed or 40 pounds or less... It would be a huge uphill, make that mountain, battle to change peoples mind on rottweilers and pitbulls down there..

Targon, are you hearing anything about city council meetings on breed banning in any of the counties? ( Palm Beach, Dade, Broward) With the exemption of Dade already not allowing pitbulls.

Re: please go and vote NO!!!

I just voted. We're way behind. Hopefully, as the day goes on, more will vote. It's still early. I'll see if I can vote a few more times.

Re: please go and vote NO!!!

I just voted, too. Why is it so hard for people to comprehend the fact that ignorance is what drives the dogs to kill? Lack of training and socialization, poor breeding and living conditions... It is all so evident and so clear. People just want to take the easy way out, I am afraid. What's worse is those people who simply don't like dogs; they will stand in agreement with outright breed bans. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, though. It's no different than me owning a handgun. I enjoy the sport of shooting, but there are people who want my gun taken from my home. No matter what it is, we will be fighting for something that we enjoy until the day that we die.

Re: please go and vote NO!!!

This is ALWAYS going to be an uphill battle. People tend to be vary confident about speaking out on issues they know nothing about when it is 1. Popular 2. Who they are speaking against CAN"T talk back. It is up to the responsible owners of these targeted breeds to: Train, Educate and Speak out LOUDLY from personal experiences. The world is self absorbed and ALL of the experts are in agreement Banning Breeds is NOT an effective solution. It is frustrating to be RIGHT and still have to FIGHT!!!!Tina

Re: please go and vote NO!!!

I voted as well. Perhaps the dogs should be allowed to sue owners for pain and suffering.

Could be because it seems to block some votes out! I have been trying since last night and it won't accept my vote!

Re: please go and vote NO!!!

i haven't heard if a meeting has been scheduled, but rumor has it that they are planning on some type of enforcement or law.
i didn't know so many people hated dogs until i went to topix.net where they had a thread on the recent incident and read what many posters were saying. how sad.
it is still going on...i posted the site on another thread.
we all need to vote, step up, and together fight this ridiculous action.

Re: please go and vote NO!!!

If they ever ban rotts I'll gladly be moving to a more sane location.
