Re: ALERT: Independence, MO

This is in the next town over from me. It is not looking good. Several cities around the Kansas City area have already banned pit bulls/any terrier breed. It has been a really bad summer here for this. Most of the attacks were from dogs running loose and in packs. I have sent several e-mails to the newpapers who wrote articles about these attacks. Most news that came out had several people sticking up for the dogs (The breed, not the dogs that attacked) saying it was the owners who were at fault for not raising/training the dogs properly. Most of the towns are looking into the vicious dog laws. Meaning not Breed Specific but if your dog bites someone unprovoked it is vicious. I am worried that if all these towns pass the pit bans, it won't matter. They may just join the bandwagon and ban all dogs they are "afraid" of.
