They have these meetings during work hours on purpose!!! Can't make this one, but I'll keep an eye out as I know there is many counties and cities looking in to BSL because of the recent Pit Bull attacks in Independence. I'm new to getting involved so be patient with me.
As far as I have seen on the forums I'm the only one here in this area.

Great......They also don't announce meetings like this real well. I live in Raytown, MO. I have Lee's Summit to the East of me, and Independance to the North of me. I will for sure keep an eye out for these meetings now. I want to go now and stick up for the breed....Heck any breed actually!!!!!!!

Permission has been granted to post this individuals concern with regard to the meetings in Lee Summit, Name withheld

"Just to let you know there has been not one rottweiler owner show up at any city council meeting and speak. This is sad because according to the city council this is the next breed to be banned in this city. We all need to stick together or we fall!"

The next breed she is speaking of is our beloved rottweilers. Regardless of the breed of dog, we MUST speak out against BSL. It's the Pit Bulls today, and any breed they choose tomorrow, including ours.

The City Council on Thursday voted to use breed-specific regulations for controlling vicious dogs but stalled on deciding any details.
