Now that Denver has won in court and they are allowed to have breed bans, several other communities are following suit. Aurora and Commerce City have both begun actions to ban pit bulls. Suggestions are welcome for how we can petition Colorado legislature to close the loop holes in their law that prevented breed banning. It won't be long before Rottweilers are on that list as well.

OMG! I am planning to live with my sister when I "retire"... 6 months in Florida and 6 months in Colorado. She has a house in Aurora and I have a rottie. Tell me how I can help!

I don't know if this will help-but go to http://www.petitiononline.com/petition.html you can create your own petiton against this nonsense. This site was mentioned (sp?)in a previous thread.Place the link here-I'm sure lots of people would sign it.
Again I don't know if it helps...I wish the goverment would realize that most of the time it's not the dog but the irresponsible owners that should be held accountable for their actions.

Denver is a perfect example of what happens when people think, well it will not affect me, MY DOG will be grandfathered in and safe. And in thinking that choose not to help fight. Guess what? Not so! Pay attention to what is going on people, with BSL and the wording being used.

"We won't go down without a fight." We say today.......

.....Many years later there is a conversation at a local church. "Remember when there was all this fuss about dangerous dogs and they banned all of the dogs. Remember our loving friend?" says husband to wife. "I miss him so much. Maybe if we were more proactive we would not be missing our friend and our hearts would not still be broken. Remember the day they came and took him away" replied his wife.
