Homeowners insurance in Massachusetts?

Anyone have any advice for obtaining homeowners insurance in MA. in a home with two Rotties? Unfortunately State Farm is not available in MA.
Any advice would be gratefully appreciated. Thank you

I don't know about Mass, but I have Liberty Mutual here in CT and they had no issues with my Rottie. You can give them a try......

I think Denise mentioned that she had the Mass Fair Plan and they were okay with Rotties. Coffee is a fugitive from our insurance.

Mass Fair Plan will cover you with a rotti but it will cost you. In my case it was over double. I had originally had Bunker Hill but my agent was not going to use them and if I went to a new agent for Bunker Hill I would be considered a new client and they won't cover me with a rotti even though I had had them for over 10 yrs. Mass Fair Plan is for people that have a high liability factor, whether its a certain breed, your location in MA like the coast or your financial risk for payment.

Thank you for the information. Looks like Mass Fair Plan. The agent we have is not re-writing with our existing company which we've had for over 10 years. Will check out Liberty Mutual. What a discriminatory practice!

You could try Fireman's Fund also.

Yes, I have Mass Fair Plan and they don't discriminate...against anything! I called them when I adopted Cyrus and they had no issues and didn't raise the price.

Because my house is in E. Boston it is very hard to get insurance because it is considered a high crime area...why I don't know...I have owned my house for 20 years and there hasn't been one break in or car theft in my neighborhood the entire time.

Methinks breeds aren't only thing insurance companies discrimante against.

Siegfried,
I got the same quote from Mass Fair as I did from my "A+ brand" insurance, so don't worry too much about getting a high price. Have you been quoted yet? I'm considering switching to MFP when my insurance expires this year.
