Get in first with legislation

Have any Kennel clubs or associations drawn up their own proposals for legislation regarding the breeding/ownership/training of dogs/animals in general.

Why couldn't a responsible legislation proposal be initiated by National kennel Clubs with the input of breed clubs.

Do it first before some narrow minded, vote grabbing, politician decides to use some inflammatory media coverage and scare tactics to push his/her own proposal in the thought that it will gain them votes!

I for one would have no hesitation backing a very strict proposal that made it harder to own any breed of dog. As long as it meant I could own the dog of my choice and participate in the sport of my choice.

(I don't class baiting as sport.)

We need to take the initiative and come up with a realistic, workable proposal including how to police it, so that we the owners and breeders of these animals can show the governments of this world how to weed out the bad apples.

I am sure we could come up with hundreds if not thousands of draft proposals that were more effective than banning a breed!
