First a message to the Moderator! Please do not remove this topic. It's non commercial and we do need input!

Hi there,
You all know what is happening in Germany... Well the samething is going to happen here, in the Netherlands... This means: rotties always on a leash, rotties are only allowed walking outside with a basketball nett on their snouts (so no sniffing, no playing and not be able to transpirate in summer) and a total extermination of breeding rotties with no pedigree. So please help the dutch rottielovers, and click on the hyperlink below! A new window will open, and you can write anything you want to say to our government.

Some of my suggestions to them was punishment
for the owners.

For lack of control (running loose or unleased) Community service or time at a
local dog pound. Of course fines also.

If they bite they should loose their rights
to own a rott for life.

This is what my two cents got them

Don't blame them, train them!!! A dog is only as good as it's owners. I think there should be MORE laws for the owners, not the breed! Getting rid of one, two, three breeds that is considered dangerious is just dumb. There are people out there who don't deserve to own a dog, but they do and MANY do for all the wrong reasons. We get rid of the Rottweiler, the AmStaff, the Pitt Bull there will ALWAYS be another breed to take their place. Soon, we will be destroying all breeds. We need to get tougher laws passed, not only in your country, but in all of them. Take owning a dog seriously! Let's not blame a breed for what us humans have done to it! I have owned Rottweilers for almost six years. I am now a grown, educated woman with two wonderful small children. Whom I love more then anything else in this world. I have also owned wonderful Rottweilers. I would never own another breed of dog. When raised with care, love, guidence, training, socialization and patience they are truly amazing! Sadly though not only do we need more owner responsibility laws, we also need breeding laws. Here in the states, MAN is destroying this great breed and others. For what? The mighty american dollar:^( The true noble Rottweiler is very far from few anymore. Again, don't blame a certain breed, blame MAN. Sadly, we humans have a way of doing that to other living things, don't we?

I don't know how the Dutch will react to this but I sent this to them on the pic link. "Let the Rottweilers be as any other dog is allowed to be. Do you restrict the habits of the strongest people in your country because they are POSSIBLY capable of inflicting more physical harm then those who are not as strong??? As soon as you start putting muzzles or other restraints on all the people of your nation (whether criminals or not) who are over 6' tall and /or weigh over 200 lbs. you can put muzzles on Rottweilers. Otherwise don't be a hypocrite. Later..." If the Dutch stsrt muzzling their people, don't blame me!

I am deeply saddened that holland is following the footsteps of ger´many,poland etc.I have sent a letter too,which was politely scathing and very informative.I asked the ducth government if they will then muzzle all police and military dogs which are defginitely not pets.I do not feel at all happy about having to muzzle a dog.They need to sniff and pant and sniff other teddy bears bits.I was planning to live and work in holland three months from now ,but if these laws are passed then I won't be and it's that simple.I feel also sad that such a small group of idiotic people,such as our friends the politicians and press,can wield such enormous yet undeserved power.Just one phonecall and a front page heading later and what have you got.If I had my way I'd arrest the lot of them for abuse of personal freedom
and right to own a loving friend.
