Arizona Legislation??

Hi y'all!
I've been lurking here for a while, enjoying all the pictures and stories of your beautiful companions. Now I have a question. Does anyone know if there are any potential problems with owning a Rott in Arizona?

We are planning (hoping) to move there within the next month or so. All of our "requrements" have been met so far, but I'm not sure of this one. Our plans are to move to Kingman. I've looked around for any legislation and haven't found any, but I'd like to know for sure.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Most animal control issues are ordinances, which means they are local. The State of Arizona does not have any breed specific statutes, nor am I aware of any localized breed specific ordinances. Most counties and cities/towns have leash laws and perhaps barking dog ordinances. That type of thing. I think you will find this any time you live in an incorporated area. If you are looking on the web, you might look under Mohave County for animal control laws. Regadless, good animal husbandry meets most requirements. Some areas might limit the number of dogs (metro Phoenix does not)so if you have more than 3 or so, you might need to check and see if a kennel license is necessary.

I had found a site that listed legislation for Rotts and others. Nothing was listed anywhere in AZ. But I didn't know how often the site was updated so I thought I'd ask some real people. Thanks for the help! Can't wait to have a Rott again. I'd never own another breed. Sure miss my baby.

Thanks again
