Caroline: Don't feel too terribly bad. I sent my letter over two weeks ago and have heard nothing. All the letters to the editors center around the Clinton thing, the new rail express line in this region and other stupid things. I find this particularly interesting in light of the fact that we have had two dog attacks in this region; one in which a child actually died! Imagine my letter was in the zero minority group for public interest. Oh well, this will not deter me.

If they took the time to take your photo your letter will eventually be printed. When is another question.

Now That I've Told the Whole World!

Now I've told the whole world (just about, considering all the nationalities that post here) that my letter was going to be in the Toronto Star, it still hasn't appeared. The photographer showed up a week ago Friday, spent an hour here, took lots of pictures, and now NOTHING! I am so ticked. I have a sneaking suspicion that perhaps my letter was knocked out by a bunch of letters about a new animal bylaw that was passed. Toronto passed a bylaw requiring all cats in the city to be licensed and kept at home. Guess there's lots of danger from all those felines running at large!

I suppose the other possibility is that my pictures turned out so scary they can't use them! Well, I'm not giving up. If it doesn't run soon, I'm writing a similar letter to our local paper. They'll print anything as long as it's coherent!!! Won't reach hundreds of thousands of people, but will reach a few thousand. I'll let you know if the one in the Star ever does run.
