Rottweiler bans in Washington State ????

I have found two websites claiming Rottweiler bans in cities and counties in Washington State. The city I live in, Kirkland, is listed. Also, King County is listed which includes Kirkland. I have searched the local newspaper archives online, called Animal Control and the City Hall and no one has heard of this alleged ban. They claim to not even know anything about a proposal of such a ban.
My pup is licensed with the city as a Rottweiler and if there were a ban I would expect they would have notified me.
I would really appreciate more information. Why would someone post untrue information about such a serious issue??

I have checked the Breed Specific Legislation site from www.rott-n-chatter.com and both Kirkland and King County are listed. If they do not currently have breed-specific legislation in place, they once did.

Please check with your city and county lawmakers, if possible, and verify that there are no references to a specific breed of dog in your city/county dog laws.

Thank you for replying. That is one of the websites I found making the claim. The city official I spoke to and animal control knew nothing of such a ban now or in the past.
I'll keep researching...
