That is why I said that these dogs should not be put under pressure and their environment should be monitored as much as possible to avoid stressful situations.

I do not believe you can change the basic threshold although when the trusted leader is present, the dog can modify its kneejerk behavior response and exhibit more self-control than it would be able to do left to its own devices. That is a result of handler dependency and should not be mistaken for an actual change in the dog.
