Barking

My friend has a 3 year old female Rotti. She barks at the t.v. whenever there are animals or people on it. They can not even watch a football game with her in the same room. Any advice on what to do?

My rottie barks at the commercial with the dog who runs into the Charmin toliet paper.

This may sound like a simple solution but why don't they just put her in another rooom???

How about a good firm NO and a down? Make the dog stay in the room pet the dog with long soft pet's and talk to it in a soothing voice. Reassure it, it's OK. Once she see's it's ok with you to be calm she should be a little calmer. Sooner or later "NO" should do the trick.
