Re: EXTREME freak out????

I would not just talk to the vet at this point, I would make sure she is SEEN by the vet. This last episode sounds like sudden pain more than anything else. It could be she hurt her neck/spine/something else and the whining/crying/foaming/panting is a reaction to pain.

Re: EXTREME freak out????

It doesn't sound like seizure activity to me. It DOES sound like it could be pain from a pinched nerve (which could come and go as has happened). If it is a pinched nerve, she doesn't understand what has caused the sudden pain, and it makes sense to me she would try to run from whatever she sees at the time. Have a vet check.

Re: EXTREME freak out????

We are taking her into the vet ASAP. Our breeder also suggested pain.

I feel like she is acting so normal, when she is not having an "episode" she runs normal (no signs of pain). What are some signs of pinched nerve ect. that I would notice (are there any besides the "episodes"?).

I just fed her lunch and she ate it all, quickly with no problems. She is now sleeping nicely on the floor (not panting).

Poor Nisha! I wish her the best of luck at the vet. I do hope they find something so that she can be treated straight away and start feeling better.

Best Wishes Nisha you are in my prayers!!!

It's so sad when our babies are ill...possibly worse when we don't know exactly what the ailment is.

Good luck to Nisha (and you as well). Dude and Bop are keeping their paws crossed that everything is ok. I'm anxious to hear how she is and what the vet says.

Re: EXTREME freak out????

Okay everyone....I am breathing a sigh of relief . Nisha does indeed have toad poisoning. ! Supposedly it is pretty common here; and it does cause foaming mouth and hallucinations. My poor baby . No meds, just wait it out. Thanks everyone for your support!

Wink Re: EXTREME freak out????

I am SOOO happy she's OK!!! I am happy/sad that I was right! My Nero never liked toads and he was not very social to animals/people if they were sick. (I think he had a 6th sense about those things--He knew I was pregnant both times WAY before I did!!) Maybe that was why he acted afraid of them!!! I'm glad to hear it was something "simple" and that she doesn't have anything worse!! My Nero passed away several years ago when he was 10 and I still miss him terribly!! Give your baby a hug for me!!!

Re: EXTREME freak out????

I am so glad to hear this actually! She was just freaking out because she was having hallucinations. Poor thing probably thought those carts were some giant monster or something.

She will be back to normal in no time! Until then I wouldn't take her out anywhere just in case she has another hallucination.
