Talking Standing between our legs??

Hi all. Hondo is 8 months old and has a habit of greeting us by standing between our legs and wiggiling his nub ferociously! He only does it to us, his immediate family. Is it just him, or do others do this as well? Thanks in advance for your response!

Re: Standing between our legs??

Lottie has always done this, she does it because she's waiting for her butt to be scratched lol, and while we're sctatching she does a little dance. I love it.

Re: Standing between our legs??

Yup my puppy has done this ever since we brought him home. Outside when he was playing he would come bounding back to me and rush in between my legs. At that time other members advised me not to let him do that because one day when he is big he might try to run at me and go in between my legs then knock me over lol...(I had asked about standing between the legs also!)

Now he still does it just to get his butt scratched, but he doesn't run at me then try to do it thank goodness!

Re: Standing between our legs??

Both my Rotts have done this when greeting me. Seems it is only with me and my son although my son is a lot shorter than me so he ends up on tippy toes. Usually I am looking at the back end of them and that little ole nub wiggles all over when scratched and rubbed.

my little puppy girl is always running up to greet me by running back and forth thru my legs and sort of talking to me with a little bark (and the occasional nip at my toes if i am wearing sandals and she is super hyper! :)

I call it "Itchy Bum"!! He greets hubby and myself like that. Everyone else, he leans on. He's got them well trained! LOL

Re: Standing between our legs??

How absolutely funny! My rottie has always done this to me...I think it must be "in-born" but they're such clowns at times that I think they know this is funny. I've been greeted when I was dressed up but who cares...throw stuff in the washer and cherish every funny, loving moment! I've never seen another breed that does this. I love it!

Re: Standing between our legs??

Dixie's greeting is a leaning rub and then present butt :)

I think it's a trait of the breed. In fact she'll sit between our legs, give us "lover paw" and just let you rub all over her. She lays her head on your arm, even fallen asleep during this.

Spoiled rotten rottie would describe her to a T!

Yep! Mine also did this, except he came from behind and it was more to get his chest and under the chin scratched (his two favorite spots).

If Khori did that to me, he would lift me off of the ground! When he greets, he doesn't do what Hondo does. In class tho, a big lab went through my legs and it lifted me off the ground. (I'm short). I couldn't touch the floor. The whole class was laughing. Got to love the goofy labs.

Re: Standing between our legs??

Butt Skritch time! Aren't they too funny? This is "his" way of making the request. It can be modified so he's beside you instead if you prefer, so he doesn't knock grandma over.

One of my two has skritch butt. The other prefers a facial massage. Sable will come over, look at you, then turn around, present her butt and look over her shoulder..."Please? You do it just right, you know. I L-O-V-E you!" All done with the cutest hopeful grin!

Re: Standing between our legs??

Gypsy wont stand like this when Im standing, but as soon as I sit down she walks over to me with her butt facing me, she stands there and wiggles back and fourth until she is comfortable enough with me petting her, then she will sit..

Re: Standing between our legs??

My seven year old boy Rocky ahs always did this, of course he wants his butt scratched. And the harder you scratch, the more he wiggles around.
