| Re: How did he do that??? My breeder had the same problem with the same kind of crate. Her bitch kept getting out of it. I have heard the Vari-Kennels aren't that great, dogs seem to escape much easier from one of them than from a wire crate. I don't personally know about that. I use a Vari-Kennel for my male, he's 13, he has never gotten out of it. Bangs on the door a lot, but never busted out. My girls are in the wire crates. Good luck figuring this one out. |

| Re: How did he do that??? I once had a Flat-Coated Retriever that was the master of escape. I ended up having to put a metal trigger snap on his crate closure and a chain with the trigger snap on the kennel run door plus a top on the kennel. Other than that he was a wonderful boy and I still don't know how he could work the locking mechanism on various types of crates. I didn't keep him in the kennel or crate that much but it always concerned me when we went to shows or retriever trials that we would learn how to manipulate the trigger snap too. It makes it harder when you have an escape artist. |

| Re: How did he do that??? Bongo is only six months old and he knows how to open every door in my house. From round doorknobs, to door handles on the outside patio. Clearly he is a very smart pup, but I find that placing the closet door just so in the front corner of his crate helps with any unwanted escapes. Don't know if that is feasible in your home, but if so, it works for us!
