Bragging on Beau

Ok, so, if anyone has read my previous post, my boyfriend and I adopted a 1 1/2 yr old chow we named Samson from a shelter on Monday to be a playmate for our 2 1/2 year old rottie Beau. WELLLLLL, Beau has free roam of the house while we are gone during the day, so it worked out the Samson could use his wire kennel. Well, I left in the morning and came home @ 4:30 and was driving in front of our duplex complex and guess who I see roaming around in someones yard, SAMSON!!!! I almost had a heart attack. I thought someone had broken into my house. I got out and got Samson (thankfully, he listens) and walked up to my unit. The window was hanging open. I walked in and the kennel was still closed. Apparantly, we rescued a Houdini dog from the shelter..... I guess he pried his way out of the side(Which really scared me because he could have hurt himself.) and PUSHED open the front window.... Guess where Beau was, just chillen on the couch (he's allowed up there). Ahhh, my faithful little Rottie...

Needless to say, I Houdini proofed the kennel with 1 million bungee cords and all has been hunky dory every since! The two are getting along splendidly and love love love playing together!!!

Our neighbors GSD mix did the same thing, only it was a second story window. I still can't believe the dog didn't get hurt.

I'm so glad that Sampson didn't get hurt. Just be careful in using the bungees, it would be horrible if he decided to chew on them and it caused and obstruction.

I'm also very glad to hear the boys are getting along so well.

Yeah, I made sure when I put the bungees on there, they are in a way where he can't get to them.

Luckily, mine is only 1 story... My neighbor across the way said she saw him do it. He got out @ around 1pm and came in and out until I got home.... The biggest thing is I'm glad he didn't get hit by a car wandering around. I live only about 2 blocks from a busy street!!! I gave my cell phone number to the neighbor who saw him just in case it ever happened again so she could call and I could rush home from work. Let's pray she doesn't have to use it!!
