It's awfully easy to cast stones folks. Think about the true ramifications if Ckimba had simply chosen to pawn this dog off onto someone else, or if he'd totally ignored the situation. I'm reasonably sure that if the dog was wired correctly to begin with, things would not have gotten so far out of hand for him.

Get off your soapboxes folks and put your pitchforks away. Sometimes humane euthenasia is not a bad thing. We're all human. Humans make mistakes. At least Ckimba appears to be learning from his.
Well said. I wish this thread were closed so all of the Ckimba bashing would end so he/she can mourn in peace.

Re: Dog Nearly Bites Friend - Urgent Advice Needed

Well, the poor poor baby. Some people dont need a rottie, some people dont need to be parent's. All we can do is offer advice and hope that the advice is taken. In the op thread it said that he /she/it was a responsible rottie owner. What made it think, oops what made me think that it had brains? options were given and thrown out with the dishwater. Yes, some people like the look of the rottie when they walk down the street with one. And yes, some people like the look of the rottie, and yes We all know of the dumb ones that want and don't need a rottie for the reasons that are listed on the last 9 pages. This dog was with someone who I wouldnt let watch my dog nor my books. This person hasnt the sense that the Man upstairs gave a SLUG. Remember!!!! You Dont Need A Dog, just a head, with sense.

Re: Dog Nearly Bites Friend - Urgent Advice Needed

I just totally LOVE the fact that there are SO MANY perfect pet owners in this thread.

E is right, it might not be an ideal situation that this dog was put down BUT none of you will ever know if it may have ended this way ANYWAY.

I have NOT read in any of ckimba's other threads ANY OF YOU offering to go down and HELP ckimba with this problem by evaluating this dog. no? did I miss the thread where someone went to help?

bunch of hypocrites if you ask me. just like the person that tells a drug addict to quit taking drugs but never REALLY makes an effort to HELP them quit.

until EACH of you can say you did EVERYTHING you could...INCLUDING driving to Florida...don't condemn ckimba for the decision that was made to preserve HUMAN LIFE and the BREED in general.

Which one of you wanted to read about this dog mauling a child???

HIGH HORSE RIDERS

bottom line...what's done is done. all you all are doing now is making sure this member DOESN'T come to you for advice in the future since you are all so snide and nasty.

Next time...step up or shut up.

The OP never took the advice anyways. For MONTHS we've given good, solid advice to the OP regarding the behaviors his dog was showing. The OP CHOSE not to take any of the advice! How is that OUR fault?

The OP had the dog evaluated. There were likely two options he could take. He chose one of those options, which he deemed the most responsible for himself and his dog.

Give it a rest, people.
