Re: What happened???

When I had kids living at home, we trained our goldens to potty in one area away from the house....and they absolutley understood that was the area to potty...no poops scattered randomly about the yard. It does sound as if you handled this correctly and I do believe she was either confused or possibly stressed about the trip to the breeders. Whenever there is a change in routine (a foster adopts, I am away for the week-end, or the "kids" visit), I can almost expect a potty accident from someone which I think it's probably stress related.
I remember when we adopted our first rotti he would only pee through the chain link fence...which of course killed the neighbor's manicured lawn and upset our neighbor...finally figured out he was probably peeing through the chain link at the shelter to keep his kennel area clean and had just gotten used to peeing that way....sometimes it takes a while to figure out what motivates them to do certain things LOL. I'm thinking if your girl ends up going to the breeders fairly frequently, she'll be less stressed about it and you may not have to constantly reteach her where to potty. She sounds great! Best of luck with her.
