Re: agression towards female 11 week old pitt getting better

Damine07 you have posted a couple threads about dog-dog aggression with your Rott. Some replies stated you need to take your Rott to obedience class. Have you started obedience classes yet?? It is really important to realize it is not so cut and dried to say my dog has a problem with 2 dogs and than that is fixed. My dog is having another problem with another dog oh now that is fixed. The reason these problems (fixed now or not) are creeping up has to do with your dog. You need to be more of a leader and you need to have more control over your Rottweiler. You are looking at isolated instances rather than the bigger picture.

Is this your first dog? Have you started formal obedience classes yet?

What do you mean by protective?? Be specific because that statement doesn't tell us anything.

Re: agression towards female 11 week old pitt getting better

well we have only posted one before this. okay well the first dog that he was aggressive towards was because that dog would do nothing but growl at him and go after him so obviously hes gunna attack back because hes using self defense and the second dog we dont know why hes attacked her and he hasnt done it in a week. and it was only 2 dogs and he hasnt gone after either of them. and we are only 16 years old so obviously we dont have the money for obedience classes right now, and if we did we wouldnt be asking for advice on here he would be in the classes. and he knows we are boss because he listens and when he used to go after the dogs as soon as we TOLD him to stop he did we didnt have to do any physical force to get him off he automatically got off from us telling him not to do it. and he is protected over brandons brother's female pitt. he has already tried snipping at a kid for treating the pitt wrong but we controlled him and yelled at the kid for it too.

Re: agression towards female 11 week old pitt getting better

We are only 16?
OK, I just have to ask, where are your parents? How did you get the dog? Who paid for the dog, and who pays for the dog food, the shots, the toys etc? I am assuming your parents do.
Well then why in the world would they not pay for obedience classes?
ALL dogs really could use these, but rottweilers, and the pit too, need them.
Please have your mom or dad get on here and read what you have written and what has been written back to you.

Re: agression towards female 11 week old pitt getting better

well they do know what we have written because half the time they are watching us write it! they pay for food, toys, shots and ect... but after paying the bills and rent and things we need ect we dont have the money for it rite now.... me and my girlfriend are looking for jobs so we can put him in obedience class and help out our paying for paying for everything that they have payed for. the dogs already have there shots so yes they are up to date with that. back to the obedience class thing he will be in one #1 when we can get enough money and #2 when we can find one, we have been looking and looking we just havent had any luck. so if any of u guys know of an obedience class in the kenosha area please lets us know so we can check it out.

Re: agression towards female 11 week old pitt getting better

A 16 year old child should not have complete control over a rottweiler. Clearly the OP doesn't have a clue on what to do with this dog. This dog needs to get into OB classes NOW. A normal dog doesn't just "go after dogs" regardless if they stop when you tell them to, a well balanced dog shouldn't be going after anything. I suggest you get your parents to visit this site - they clearly don't see what's going on either. Even if you had the money to take OB classes, you should still come on here to ask questions. This place has tons of good information. You and your dog and your parents need to get into classes and get control over this dog.

Re: agression towards female 11 week old pitt getting better

ok look #1 he doesnt ever go after the dog unless our other dog is the one that starts it. #2 our parents do see what is going on because they are there and see it too. and a 16 year old should have complete control over a rotti if there the ones who paid for it and the ones who said it is my responsibility. #3 damien NEVER goes after just any dog it is only our chihuahuas and like i said he only does that when the chiuahua goes after him first. our dog has never hurt a dog. he only knocks the dog over and stands over him as if to tell him to leave me alone. plus dont u think that if a rotti really wanted to hurt the chihuahua he would have done it already instead of just knocking him over and standing above him? and like we have said before he knows who the leader is and we do HAVE control over him!

Re: agression towards female 11 week old pitt getting better

16???? I would not allow my children of that age to be fully responsible for a breed like this, or any breed for that matter, yes they could partisipate in Obedience and agility but to have full control I would get this dog in class as of yesterday it really makes a difference

Re: agression towards female 11 week old pitt getting better

ok look #1 he has never gone after just any dog. he has only one after the chihuahuas and that is because the chi's always start it. like we said we dont know why he went after the pitt but he hasnt gone agfter any of them in a long time. when he did go after the chi's all he did was knock them over and stand above them as if to say leave me alone. he has NEVER hurt any dog. #2 our parents do know what is going on because they are there when it happens and have seen the stuff we have written on here and we have told them all the advise we get and it seems to help. #3 a 16 year old can have COMPLETE control over a rotti if there the ones who paid for it and are the ones who took coplete responsibility for the dog.

Re: agression towards female 11 week old pitt getting better

Oh my gosh! 16 years old? How frightening is this post! A Rottweiler does not belong in the hands of 16 year olds. I certainly hope that the parents are involved and these kids are just looking for information. I could not imagine this not being the case but you just never know with some people. Big trouble brewing here if they are indeed the "responsible" ones.

Re: agression towards female 11 week old pitt getting better

ok look every one yes we are 16 and 17 years old yes we our the owners of this dog yes our parents know what is going because they are there and see it. he is not in OB classes yet because after our parents have paid for food toys shots ect plus bills and rent and things that people need we just dont have the money for it at this time. that is why me and my gf are looking for jobs so we can put him in a school. now to my point... he has only gone after our chihuahuas when they have gone after him first and when he did that he only knocked them over and stood above them as if to say leave me alone. he has NEVER hurt any of the dogs. we dont know why he went after the pitt, we think it had to do with attention but we are not sure. so he is not this bad dog that u may think he is. he know who the leader is and he is very good at listening to the commands given. he has not gone after any of the dogs in a long time so he is improving. now the OB classes we have been searching for a school we just cant find one so once we have enough money and we can get our own jobs he WILL be in classes.
