| Sometimes same sex dogs will fight for pack position. If this is the case, as your pup gets older you may see your older dog tolerate a lot less from the pup. Watch close and don't leave them together unsupervised.

| I myself have two dogs, a Rottie Neo who is now 2 and my mixed breed who is 7. Nana is a female and Neo a boy. From the beginning Nana has been at the top and though she is a petite 50 # and Neo is 120 #, she is the boss without a doubt and we have let it be this way. Neo is very respectful of her and it really seems to work for them. I woud suggest that you let them figure out who is the top dog on their own, but always supervise. You don't want to interfere with this but you don't want them to hurt each other either. Good luck. |

I think you will often find the female "putting her apron on" and taking over. Gotta love those bossy bitches! My breeder tells me she always felt one female (guess whose?) was "the enforcer" amoung her littermates. We still one of her brothers who much bigger. Story hasn't changed tho.Bear2B, you have 2 males? Same sex may have a problem with each other as they get older. Be forewarned and supervise their play.

| I agree with the others...same sex dogs can be trouble. If the mix is not neutered yet, have it done and when your pup is older have him neutered. Very hard if not impossible to keep two intact males together. Get your pup signed up for classes now also...and keep him in class for the next 2-3 years. Gina
