seperation anxiety?

Ada passed away on the weekend, and since she's been gone I've noticed a difference in Frau. Ada had seperation anxiety (not severe by any means) had to be crated when we left (for any length of time) and couldn't be alone, Frau had to be with her.
Since she's been gone, Frau has been very mellow. Frau has never been a mellow dog. Good in the house, yes, but always curious, walking around, sniffing everything, wrestling with Ada, cuddling with Ada, etc.
I'm wondering if she's still mourning, or if Ada's seperation anxiety used to make Frau anxious as well, kind of work her up. Or maybe since she doesn't have competition for attention anymore she's more relaxed and not striving for it. She's no longer crated, and has free range of the house all night/day. She hasn't disturbed/chewed anything.
Am I experiencing a honeymoon period right now or could Frau have been feeding off Ada's frenzy, so to speak?

symbiosis is not (and in fact is rarely) a good thing. And yes, one dog's insecurities bleeds off on the other dogs, even those with steady nerves cannot help but be affected. Even such things as the increased respiration and panting communicates "something is wrong, something is wrong". Although they enjoy one another's company, most dogs also enjoy being an "only" and getting to be always the one for the walk, or ride, or ear scratch.
